Father

The curtains of my room bunched up at the ceiling as a strange wave made its way through the air, like seafoam upon the water. I sat up in my bed, watching the strange display as it flowed through the gap in my doorway. At the root, at the topmost part of my doorframe, a silver light spilled in around a clawed hand. Each of its fingers melted into the air, feeding that light into the room like ribbons of fragile paper dissolving in water. I saw it in both eyes as the exact same image, my vision two dimensional and flat. I was not frozen, I simply chose not to move from where I was sat, as I worried that movement might cease the moment I was witnessing. Darkness played at the windows as if trying to escape the rising sun, and all at once as the sun crested over the edge of the world... it was all gone. The silver light, the hand, the mist and fog all went away as my curtains remained where they ought to be. What a wonderful and rare time.

【 Thank you, uh, we really needed to know that. Go back to bed, Father. 】
